I enjoyed Suckers a lot but I still had some mixed feelings. I didn't fall into the story fully until about 50 pages in. I think it's partially cause the description of touring really sticks. It's a bit boring and you're mostly stuck in Dan's head at first, which makes sense for the story. Once it gets going though, the whole thing gets really interesting. Though there is a shift in the middle and things get apocalyptic but then sort of switch back towards the end. The critters are pretty interesting (love the little illustration in the paperback) and the spin on vampires was fun. Definitely worth a read. And keep in mine that some bits are very...gooey. Check it out.

Well written. An interesting take on the vampire genre, but please don't take that comment to mean this book is about vampires because it's really not. Suckers felt more like psychological horror to me than straight horror, but all in all, it was an interesting read. I'm really looking forward to more from Z. Rider.
The author takes a unique spin on the classic vampire and creates a world overrun! Definitely worth a read. You'll be scared of the dark again!
I LOVED this book. A great horror but also a great look into how a deep rooted friendship works out. Not a classic zombie/vampire/alien novel and not full.of a ton of gore, but I thoroughly enjoyed reading it.
I give this book 5 stars because the writer was creative and you never know from one person to the next what will "truly" happen to them. This book is good for anyone who just loves to read!
I loved the new unique take on a vampire outbreak vs. a zombie outbreak. It strikes like a virus you don't understand until you are trying to eat your best friend. Interesting story of horror and friendship. Loved the writing myself. A whole different origin of the vampire.
A gritty, depressing and realistic take on the done to death tale of the end of civilisation. Loved the alien vampire angle, just wish that the ending didn't feel somewhat hurried hence my rating of 4 stars instead of 5. Great characters, would have liked some more development and insight but overall a great read for anyone sick of the tired old apocalyptic novel.
Interesting new twist on an old genre. I enjoyed the wonderful companionship and brotherly love between the two main characters. It really brought this story to a whole new level. If you are looking for a straightforward horror story about blood sucking vampires, this isn't for you. There are several fairly intense scenes where the writer does an incredible job of ratcheting up the tension and bringing chills to the reader.
But again, what truly gives the story it's four star rating is the dynamics between Dan and Ray.
