I love this saga! This is book 5 and I think it might be the best one yet (?) what I love is that all of these friendships grew so much in this book, the author did such a great job of balancing suspense, romance, mystery, action, comedy (when Beth Ann goes into labor, oh my) and that is so important to me in any book I read. This story has always been believable, not far fetched in any way, and this particular book takes us through a very emotional set of "secrets" and shows us how a real person might process and handle such a discovery. The thoughts they'd think, the confusion theyd feel, the mixed emotions, all of them processed in a healthy way, Kaylob leaning on his wife and friends. I learned so much about Frankie, I really enjoyed how much we learned about him! I'm looking forward to the next book, and any after. I will confirm that this book leaves you hanging at the end... Drives me crazy, but as I've gotten a feel for this author through her writing, I am hopeful that everything will be OK and I'll breathe a sigh of relief eventually... But, she has killed in her books before, sooo, I'm not too sure about it. Just hopeful. The romantic parts were all tastefully done (no pun intended) and that is so important to me when I read a book. Nothing raunchy, all very respectful & true to the characters nature. I would have no shame in recommending this book to anybody.

April Secret Storm Brenda Ashworth Barry 9781680462227 Books Reviews

Love the characters. Love the story. Love how the relationships build and the characters grow. I definitely want to read the four books before this one and I can't wait to read book 6! I found out about this book from a friend on Facebook. I'm so glad they suggested it.
Started this book last night, couldn't wait to finish it! It's 2 am, I need to sleep now!
This is the fifth book I've read in this saga, so I feel like the characters are old friends. It was great to visit with the familiar ones and to meet some new ones whose stories add a whole new dimension to this fabulous saga. This installment is a fabulous mix of gorgeous locations, complicated family dynamics, humor, nostalgia, and a love story between the main characters that is timeless and heartwarming. I can't believe there's only one more book to go! I know I will miss these people and think about them all the time.
I actually downloaded this as I did not want to wait for the book to arrive by mail. I started April's Secret Storm with in minutes of finishing June's Stolen Rose, even though I had the book waiting in my to read, I did not want to lose the continuity. I waited to get the hard copy of June's Stolen Rose to read first. Watching the whole dynamic of Kaylobs "new" found family play out was heart wrenching, you could feel what he was going through. One thing I loved about this book and the others is the connection that Kaylob and Beth Ann have that transcends words... the other in this book was them settling in Redlands Ca. My mom grew up there, I know the town having spent time with my Grandmother there, that alone brought up some really nice memories.Thank you, Brenda I love the whole saga and find that April's Secret Storm is the best so far and left me so ready for the final. Honestly I would like to see the saga continue. I am hooked and look forward to more stories by Brenda Ashworth Barry....
Let me start by saying that I do not usually read love stories or romance novels, but this book was so well written that I hardly thought about the genre. There was such depth to the characters combined with a beautiful flow and pace to the story that, before I knew it, I was absorbing the last few words. Frankie was a character that I can definitely relate to and found myself being reminded of my past many times while learning about his life. There is a different dimension to this love story that creates situations and involves characters that most men can relate to. The plot took some very good twists and turns and the ending was a definite cliffhanger. I will be waiting patiently for the next book in this series to discover how it all plays out. However, it cannot come soon enough. I would highly recommend this book to all, male or female.
First, I want to stay that this book was awesome and the best written yet. Here are some of the things I liked the most Getting to know Frankie and seeing a side to him, I didn’t know. Like how serious he was about becoming an attorney. Watching him fall in love was a riot. He was hilarious. Talk about knocking his socks off. He met his match. The harsh part for me was seeing Beth Ann and Kaylob’s world turned upside down again. What a secret these people kept from Kaylob. And although, there were hints in the other books. This smacked Kaylob right in the face. Now, they are left once again, trying to have a happy life.
I loved the scene where Beth Ann tells him the good news. He made me laugh out loud. I enjoyed Blake in this book too, and seeing the friendship grow between all of them. But at the same time this rich, powerful playboy, made me sad.
The ending, what can I say about the ending. Never in any of the Mrs. Barry’s books has she left off with a cliffhanger this intense. I found myself yelling at her. Now I want to know who lives or dies, But, I have to wait for the next book. That’s not so much fun.
As a reviewer, I don't like to make a list of things that happen in the book. I feel that gives it away for the person who reads it next. What I can say for April's Secret Storm and the series it is contained in, is majestic. From the first book to the fifth book, I was enthralled with the characters and the path their lives had taken. Emotions run rampant in this series. The reader is sucked in to every stage of Beth Ann and Kaylob's life. They make a quick trip to Ireland which uproots Kaylob's whole life. It seems as if these two, who have a love that anyone would kill for, face one up-hill battle after another, but their love sees them through. There are happy times, too. A circle of friends that would do anything for the couple are also a major plus in this series. My recommendation Start at book one and just keep reading from there. Once you start. you won't be happy until you have read them all. April's Secret Storm is as great as the first book in the series. I would give every book in the series ten stars if I could.
